Project 365 Day 326

This was our day in Rocky Mountain National Park.  We can't WAIT to go back.  Such a stunning place.  Too bad I haven't figured out how to organize my pictures when I take them in a way that I actually remember where and what everything was.  Nonetheless, some gorgeous views of a spectacular place.  The drive from Wondervu to Estes Park was as gorgeous as the park itself.  We made it to Many Parks Curve the farthest place you can go on the eastern edge of the park until summer.  We can't wait to go back in the summer when we can actually do more hikes.  We didn't have snow pants and snow shoes with us to make that feasible this time.  I have hundreds of pictures from this day but these are a few that I hope capture a little of the beauty we were able to experience.  Enjoy!

Project 365 Day 325

This is our time at the Rocky Mountain Arsenal Wildlife Refuge in Denver.  This place was literally a former chemical weapons arsenal during WWII and the Cold War.  After Vietnam they shut it down and turned it back over to the government and it underwent a 15 year clean up process and is now home to a bucket load of rabbits, prairie dogs, deer, bison and hundreds of species of birds.  It was a really neat place.  I highly recommend it if you're ever in the area.  The visitors center staff were incredibly helpful and even asked us to return after our tour to see the pictures.

The other pictures are from our afternoon in Nederland.  It's a super wacky little town in the mountains.  They even have an annual Frozen Dead Guy festival....you should research it, it's fascinating.  There is a beautiful lake and damn there as well as a small little town with lots of neat places to shop and eat.

Project 365 Day 324

Be prepared for some extensive blog posts people.  We just returned from 5 days in Colorado and had an amazing time.  Of course these aren't all the pictures, but definitely some highlights.  The first days pictures are from the drive up to the Eldora Lodge where we stayed for the week and some pictures of our view from there.

The lodge had 52 inches of snow the weekend prior to when we arrived.  The roads were clear and dry but there was certainly snow everywhere else.  It was chilly at night but gorgeous and lovely during the day.

Attended an awards ceremony on the Capitol lawn this afternoon.  Another gorgeous Spring day.
