Project 365 Day 191

Sheldon enjoying his new clown fish courtesy of the raffle mommy and daddy won at the pet expo over the weekend.  New toys are always fun while they last.

Project 365 Day 190

We did out first 20 mile bike ride today.  Lots of lessens learned about food and hydration.  But the ride along the river was beautiful.  I've been hard on myself about how slow I am in comparison to those around me.  Mike made a great point though, those people wouldn't be nearly as fast if they were carrying a 75 pound pack with them.  The healthier I become and the less I have to carry around, that will certainly help.  No regrets though, it's a good journey and I'm proud we are taking it.

Project 365 Day 189

New views of the same silly pups.

Project 365 Day 188

Driving home after visiting some friends last night I decided to drive through the MU campus.  Though most know how I feel about the Tigers sports wise, it is still a good school and a beautiful campus.  Though I get irritated when the students come back it also brings a level of energy back to the town.  Ready for fall.

Project 365 Day 186

I took off work a little early today to do an extra long bike ride in prep for our longest ride yet this Sunday.  Had a good time but quickly was very glad that my padded shorts, gloves and sun glasses will be arriving shortly.  This biking thing is not for wussies.  People make it look easy but when you are still trying to increase your fitness level, it's still work. However I'm happy and grateful that this is work I can do.

Project 365 Day 185

This is the little prize at the end of my first legislative session.  I had a teeny tiny hand in this bill but it's something my  boss has been working on for several years and she and other lawmakers and advocates deserve all the credit.  A great deal has been said about women in politics in Missouri this year.  I will say that with the bright leaders I am surrounded by, the future for kids and families is bright.

Project 365 Day 184

Tonight Mike and I went on a long bike ride (well long for beginners) so when we came home and he was getting dinner ready, I wanted to make up for our time away by spending some extra time playing with the dogs in the yard.  Of course Sheldon was the only one who REALLY wanted his picture taken.   Love these furry ones.

Project 365 Day 183

Practice makes perfect....or practice makes more practice.    Just some scenes from around the yard.

Project 365 Day 182

We took a trip to Kansas this weekend to hangout with my family.  On our way we took a scenic byway and ran in to this super cool horse sculpture made of junk metal.  I love roadside oddities.  Here's to more adventure.

Project 365 Day 181

Trailer hitch installed.  Bike rack on.  Finished our first bike ride together tonight.  We had a great time and are making plans for upcoming long rides on the Katy Trail.

Project 365 Day 179

And of course tonight I am happy to post pictures of the sweet puppies I get to come home to.  It's the time of year where our dogs jump up and tear apples out of our tree in the backyard....just having a little snack.  Guinness is playing hide and seek.

Project 365 Day 178

Now these are the views I saw MOST of the weekend from the window at the St. Louis University school of Law.  Those Jesuits sure know how to raise money to make a nice building.  :)  It was a great training.  Any of you lawyer types who are interested in transforming the way you practice should absolutely attend this.  It's also great for mental health professionals.   It was a long, exhausting weekend but totally worth all the great information.

Project 365 Day 177

These are some shots of the balcony of Union Station and a view down the street.

Project 365 Day 176

During my trip last weekend to St. Louis for a training I stayed at the Union Station hotel.  Beautiful building.  They do a really cool light show every evening in the lobby that projects images and plays music.  It's a pretty spectacular sight.  Friday night I also ventured out and took some pictures around Union Station.  Enjoy.

Project 365 Day 175

So those of you who read this blog who are also my Facebook friends (which is all of you) have already seen some of these pictures of the fascinating Route 66 attraction of Uranus, Missouri.  But can you ever have too much Uranus?

Project 365 Day 174

Who can resist these faces?   Love, love, love.

Project 365 Day 173

This was on my drive home last night.  I had a great time talking with a great friend.  I also always enjoy the drive down our little country lane on my way to the ones who love me most.

Project 365 Day 172

Sunday was soooooo hot.  So I spent part of the day scanning my mom's photos in to make them all digital.  I did manage to step out on the deck long enough for my lens to fog over and for me to get some shots of the beautiful sunflowers growing in the field behind our house.  I am a KS girl after all.

Project 365 Day 171

I had plans to go on a photo adventure today but ended up cancelling because I got sick last night.  We had a nice, lazy, relaxing day.  Of course there was just enough excitement and ball throwing for this guy to be all tired out.

Project 365 Day 170

Well I've fallen short this week on taking pictures.  :(  I will officially have to add 2 days on to the blog.  Tonight's photo is of one of the sweetest faces in my house.  He can always bring a smile to anyone's face.  Looking forward to going on a photo walk tomorrow and get back to some real picture taking.

Project 365 Day 169

Just waiting for Dad to drop some bread while fixing dinner.  The dreams of dogs.

Project 365 Day 168

Looking smashing trying out my new bike helmet.  I did my first bike ride in nearly 15 years tonight.  I had so much fun and got a great workout.  Mike ' s bike comes later this week.  Can't wait for all the new adventures.
