Project 365 Day 211

Earlier this week I was able to go over to the Missouri Capitol where they had a traveling display of the Vietnam Memorial.  My uncle served there, but I'm not very personally connected to it.  Regardless it was an amazing site and very moving.  I'm not a fan of war and think we as a country should avoid it as much as we can.  This does not however lessen my respect for those who serve and do a job that I could not.

However, I do hope the lessons of Vietnam and Iraq teach us not only about the heroism displayed by those in uniform and those who lost their lives, but also the cost of that sacrifice in the service members who come home.  I hope we can continue to work to help them meet their physical and emotional needs when they return and treat them as they deserve.

Project 365 Day 210

Obviously I'm not doing a great job at taking pictures everyday.  I am still taking pictures, just trying to bring more intention to the cause.  If I snap something just to say I did, that defeats the entire purpose of the blog.  I want to show all the beauty and joy in my own life and all around.  Plus all this means is that we get to spend more time together.  Xoxo.

Project 365 Day 209

New cycling gloves and picked up my favorite coffee.  Not a bad way to spend a lunch hour.

Project 365 Day 208

I went to Iowa this weekend to celebrate my Grandma's 103rd birthday.   The full album is on Facebook, but these are just some highlights.  The final picture I took after pulling over on my way out of town.  The picture of the fields, the windmill and the barn hold so many amazing childhood memories that I will always cherish and will always make me think of my amazing Grandma Evelyn.

Project 365 Day 204

13.24 miles on the trail this morning.  Cool, peaceful ride.  Rode a little faster, felt a little stronger.  Grateful to have my best guy pushing me, supporting me and enjoying the views along the way.

Project 365 Day 203

Traveled to Lawrence, KS yesterday for the wedding of a dear friend from high school.  Had a fabulous time at the wedding and reconnecting with old friends.   Beforehand I stopped at a Sunflower farm and of course to pay heed to the greatest basketball program in the world.

ROCK CHALK JAYHAWK, GO KU!!

Project 365 Day 202

Loving the cooler weather.  Friday night was the perfect opportunity to veg out with the windows open and my favorite fuzzy blanket.  Bring on the fall.

Project 365 Day 201

This is why I should always try to remember to take my camera.  When you're waiting at the park for the time you can go pick up dinner, then you get the chance to take pictures of the last days of summer and green.

Project 365 Day 200

This is what happens when you get to the end of the day and realize you haven't taken any pictures.  Yay for cute dogs who are always around.

Project 365 Day 197

Had a great ride on the Katy today.  I made better decisions with eating and hydration today and with some adjustments to my bike I felt stronger.  It was a beautiful day.
