Project 365 Day 32

Today I had a meeting in another town so I took the opportunity to stop and take some pictures afterwards on my way home.   These are taken at Westminster College in Fulton, Missouri.  These are of the National Churchill Museum, segments of the Berlin wall that were moved to the site and of the columns.  Churchill visited Fulton in 1946 and this is the location where he gave his famous "Iron Curtain" speech.

I visited Berlin in 1995 when I was in high school, which was only about 6 years after the wall came down.  It was still very stark the difference between East and West in Berlin and the rest of Germany. It's interesting how permanent people thought that wall was at the time.  I feel that way now about the walls that seem to divide our country so starkly these days.  I only hope that the same spirit of peace, understanding and risk to listen to another can guide us in a better direction for our own future.  xoxo- Kat
