Project 365/Day 16

I was sad to leave this weekend, had a great time with my good friend and seeing my family.  The weather did break enough for me to take the scenic drive through the Flint Hills from Manhattan to Topeka.  It allowed me to get amazing scenes of landscapes as well as a lot of the old houses that have the native stone.  I intended to only take about 20 minutes doing this, but the route and the photos ended up adding an extra hour and a half to my trip home.

Then I was driving through Kansas City and was crossing the bridge and looked down at the beautiful end of day light hitting all the cool old buildings in the West Bottoms, so I could resist stopping and take some time to get some great shots there and downtown.

I did realize today that clearly I should warn anyone traveling with me that they now have to figure in an extra hour of travel time for me to stop and take some pictures.  After all, it's all about the journey.  xoxo
